How to search permits in Orlando, step by step
- From the city's Permits & Inspections page, open the project lookup tool under Check Permit Status.
- Search by permit number, address, project name or parcel ID.
- Read the prefixes:
BLDbuilding,ELEelectrical,MECmechanical,PLMplumbing,ENGengineering, followed by year and number (BLD2026-01234). - Check the status column. A new-home lot typically shows a BLD permit with ELE, MEC and PLM permits under the same project name. If the trade rows aren't there yet, those subs may not have pulled permits.
- Search by project name to see a whole subdivision. Builders often name projects by community and lot, for example "PRESERVE AT LAUREATE PK LOT 12".
